Maiden's Tower, Istanbul Overview
Maiden’s Tower is an iconic tower and landmark situated on a small islet off the coast of Üsküdar. Also known as Leander’s Tower, it houses a museum, a cafe and a restaurant offering scenic views of the Bosphorus. It is easily accessible via a ferry or boat. Maiden's Tower was supposedly built during the 4th-5th century as a tax collection centre. It served as a watchtower, lighthouse, and quarantine station in the past but is now a popular tourist attraction. The Tower, which consists of 5 floors, stands tall at roughly 100 ft.
