Gili Trawangan, or Gili T, is the largest and liveliest of the three Gili Islands off Lombok's northwest coast, the other two being the quieter Gili Meno and Gili Air. Like the rest of the Gilis, there are no motorised vehicles here: getting around means walking, cycling, or taking a horse-drawn cidomo cart. Gili T draws a younger crowd for its dive schools, snorkelling trips to see reef sharks and turtles, and a beach party scene its sister islands don't have. Fast boats connect it to Bali (from Padang Bai or Sanur) and to Lombok, usually taking under two hours.
