Murano, Venice Overview
About 1.5 km away from Venice, is a group of seven islands, Murano, which are linked by beautiful bridges and canals. It is famous for glassblowing, which is one of the arts of Venice. The islands modern day cafes lined along the seaside make a perfect backdrop for pictures. Tons of tourists visit here to watch how glassblowing is done and to shop for souveniers. There is also a cemetery here which is the resting place of Ezra Pound.
